Dear Piccard Homes, I just wanted to send a brief note about my recent experience in purchasing a home in Sawgrass South, Rehoboth Beach Delaware. I have bought and sold several homes over the years, in five different parts of the country, and have never experienced such a positive interaction as with your sales and construction leaders in Sawgrass, Don Allan and Lori Allan. Don and Lori live and breathe customer relationships and it shows in the service levels they provide on a consistent basis.

Having 30 years of experience, I know the key to a successful business is all about relationships. Both Don and Lori truely represent Piccard Homes in a positive, professional and engaging manner. I never felt like I was experiencing a "transaction" but more of an "interaction". I am so proud of our new home and the community.

This past winter we purchased our first home in the Sawgrass South community in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. We looked at a number of other new construction communities in the local area and while many were very nice, none of them were stand outs. The minute we walked through the door at Sawgrass, we knew…this is our new home.

As with anything else in life it's the details that are important. The thought behind every detail in our new home is evident; the layout, wood floors, amazing granite, etc. Our windows are large and well placed to maximize the views while still supporting standard size window treatments. The symmetry and harmony in the visual balance of everything in the home brings immediate comfort to all that enter.

The beautiful home has only been part of our wonderful experience. Every person at Piccard Homes has been professional, caring and has delivered on every commitment. In particular the Sales Manager, Dana Coleman, oversaw the entire purchase transaction remaining positive and supportive during the stressful points. She managed to keep everyone on target, even through a historic snowstorm. And we can't go on enough about the service delivered by the Construction Manager, Don Allan. From our very first walkthrough he has been two steps ahead of us anticipating any questions or concerns we might have. His management of the process and any request is so seamless it almost seems magical. Even two months after we have closed he has continued to make himself supportive and accessible, very often going above and beyond.

The best compliments we can give are that everyone has consistently delivered service excellence before, during and after our purchase. It is clear that everyone at Piccard honors their commitments.

We moved into our new townhouse in Sawgrass South in December of last year. There were many options available to us when we began to seriously consider the possibility of actually having a second home in Rehoboth Beach about a year ago. With both time and the condition of the housing market seemingly on our side, I did not feel any pressing need to rush into a decision or jump at the first house we saw that was to our liking.

I think I mentioned to both you and Lori on more than one occasion that the decision became an easy one for us after our very first visit to the community. And if our first impression was a favorable one, it has only been reinforced by our experiences over the past five months.

We make the drive from Baltimore as often as we can because we enjoy the house and the community so much. Our friends are visiting more often now as well, with the beautiful weather upon us, and everyone's reaction seems to be about the same; they too enjoy the inviting feel and the warmth of the place.

The quality of the house itself hardly needs mentioning; I would say only that it has exceeded our high expectations. And the peaceful surroundings and our friendly neighbors make it seem very much like home to us now.

We are writing this email to let you know how pleased we are with our experience in not only purchasing our home, but also building a new home from scratch.  When we first started looking in Rehoboth I thought we would never find our dream beach house that had been in my mind for so long.  Then our realtor brought us to see Sawgrass South and we met Don!

We were impressed from the start, which is something that is hard to accomplish with my husband.  The last several months have been so pleasurable, which is mostly due to Don and Lori. We have been able to watch our dream come true, without any headaches or stress's. Don and Lori exemplify a true desire to please which is something you rarely see anymore. Their expert craftsmanship and attention to detail have turned my dream idea into our beautiful beach home.  We are looking forward to the completion so we can enjoy our new home and make some beautiful memories with our family.

Here is our Sawgrass story:

We started our quest to find a home in Rehoboth back in the late 80's/early 90's. We had spent at least a week and some holidays there every year and decided it might be time for us to start looking for some permanent digs. We looked continuously. We looked at different locations-condos-single family homes-villas-acreages-cabins-townhomes-on canals-near bike paths and in trailer parks. We looked downtown-out of town-in Bethany-in Dewey-in Lewes. More and more of our friends were buying places as their second homes and encouraging us to do the same. After all was said and done, and years and years later, we were still looking. We could just not find the "right place" that made of us jump for joy and our hearts sing!  

We had visited the Sawgrass South area in the mid 2000's. The second builder had just come in, but the houses were just too big and pretentious for us and the neighborhood just didn't "feel" right.

Fast forward to 2010. Our friend and realtor, Karen Gustafson had been living in Sawgrass for about 4 years and begged us to look again. She was excited about the new builder "Piccard" who had taken over the development. It was the end of June. So in part to appease Karen and because Donna had always loved the Sawgrass-bay area, we went back. We were only going to "look". Then we met Mike and the infamous "Don" and looked at the spec house they were building which was already sold. It was beautiful! Not too big, not too small. The entire energy of the place seemed different. We left and went home and talked about Sawgrass non-stop. The next week we went back and Don chauffeured us around the "hood". We looked at the lots that were available and couldn't agree on one that we both liked. It was then that Don mentioned there was one other that he hadn't showed us. It was the one he was going to build his house on. I asked him if it was available. He reluctantly said "yes". On the ride over he told me he had been on that lot every season of the year and had seen the sunset and sunrise almost everyday and night. He knew the position of the stars at night, which trees lost their leaves first. He had already imagined how the house would be positioned for the best view at any time. He painted a vision of what our "home" would look like and what our lives would be like in Sawgrass South.  I still remember the instant I felt like we had found our "home". July 4th, 2010 we signed on the dotted line.

....And that is how our fairytale started. From the minute we signed our contract to the day Don handed us the keys, the entire process seemed like a dream. It was so easy, at times we couldn't believe we were building a new house in another state!! Karen would send us daily videos and would oversee  the work, so that we didn't have to miss anything. We now have a complete video diary of the entire event. We pictured how our house would look before it was built, but even with our imaginations working overtime, we could not known how beautiful it would become. Our goal was to have it be open, warm and functional. It exceeded all that. When people walk in-usually the first thing out of their mouths is "woooooow--this is soooo beautiful". Someone said once--"it feels like this house is giving you a BIG hug"!! How great is that?? 

Don, Lori, Lynette and Mike could not have been nicer. They have and continue to be honest, kind, empathetic and professional people. They started out being our Sales Reps, project manager and builder and have become our friends and part of the family. They made changes that were minute and major without complaint or argument. They went above and beyond-- like helping to move furniture-hanging heavy mirrors-picking up packages off the front porch. They are the BEST neighbors you could ask for! But the best confirmation for us that we had chosen the right place to call home, came the first week we moved into our home. We were downtown enjoying "Witch Fest" when we received a call from our alarm company informing us the alarm was going off at our house. We were about 30 mins from the car and home, so we called Karen and asked her to swing by the house and see if it was a "false" alarm. When she called back she told us everything was fine--now. But our front door somehow had been opened and our dogs were gone--one was by the front gate- one the street-one was missing. Don and Lori were out riding around in their golf cart and knew where they belonged. Neighbors and people we had never met helped round them up and bring them home safely. That was a clear and positive sign to us we had picked the right place to call home. If you don't LOVE dogs, you probably won't be happy at Sawgrass! 

We feel fortunate everyday to live in paradise. We are surrounded by beauty, nature and a community of people that care and look after each other. It reminds me of the small town where I was raised. When you meet someone on the street or in the community center, they always want to stop and chat and seem genuinely happy to see each other. You couldn't ask for a more harmonious environment. You have the sounds and smells of nature all around you, the BIG sky at night, a beautiful community center, bike/walking paths to help you stay in shape and water all around. The serene view of the golf course keeps your blood pressure low and the sounds of the croaking bullfrogs help to lull you to sleep at night..........and they lived happily ever after!

We bought our townhouse at Sawgrass from Piccard homes in the fall of 2008 and have been thrilled with our decision to this day. The Sawgrass community has everything we ever wanted.

The building was a smooth process and our request and concerns were handled professionally and with courtesy. Even during construction the property was always kept clean! Our home is gorgeous and we love the attention to details.

The residents of Sawgrass are some of the nicest people we have met and everyone goes out of their way to be welcoming. There are many community gatherings that are done at different times during the year and are always a nice time.

We love taking walks and bike rides throughout the community and exploring the well-kept grounds. Our children enjoy the pool, which is always clean and the staff are accommodating when we are in need of anything. We haven't used the beautiful clubhouse as of yet, but look forward to an occasion that will allow us to do so!

All of us would encourage our friends and family who are looking for a home and community that has it all to check out Sawgrass by Piccard!

The Swarbrick, Powell and Doody Families

Piccard Homes has provided our family with everything we had hoped for and more. We were looking for an upscale, yet affordable, community close to Rehoboth beach. We wanted a place we could take our kids to during the summer and get away from our busy lives during the offseason. My wife and I toured the community at Sawgrass and fell in love. The different models were all beautiful with wonderful layouts that could fit many different family needs. We chose one with a layout that provided a lot of outdoor space. The deck is perfect for grilling and sipping on a summer drink with no obstructions to our back yard view.

We thought Sawgrass might be out of our price range but the number of upgrades and amenities far surpassed all the competition. We had done a lot of looking but nothing compared to what we feel we got for the price of our home. From the granite countertops, to the crown molding, the place is impeccable! The pool and fitness center were also important to us and we like that the community was gated.

Don and Lori were wonderful from the moment we met them. Going above and beyond to help us with all our concerns and questions. The changes we wanted to make to our particular model was met with enthusiasm and excitement. There was never a problem and everything was done in a timely fashion.

Our children love it and are always asking when we are going back to Sawgrass. I am looking forward to a fun filled summer at the beach!

Mary and I have been in the new townhouse at Sawgrass South on Catalina Circle for six months now and we wanted to drop you a short note to say thanks again for showing us the perfect townhouse back in January. We totally enjoy everything the home has to offer, including the layout of the home (with plenty of deck area), the area of Rehoboth Beach, the pool/exercise room and the friendly Delaware folks. We also greatly appreciate how smooth the sale negotiation, the walk-throughs and the final closing were completed. What may the sale so easy was your the enthusiasm and knowledge during the presentation of the various town house models and all other steps in the buying process. The real estate professionalism of you and your team were outstanding as you were able to answer all my questions about the house, property and other expense (insurance, utilities, taxes, etc).

Since we have been living there, Don Allan, the Site Construction Manager, has been absolutely wonderful helping us transition to the new house. Any questions we have had Don has responded to quickly to get us an answer or show us how to use equipment in the house. He has been a great help and become a welcome friend in our house. He is an instrumental member of the Sawgrass Community.

You can tell that Mary and I are very excited about the town house. My kids also love the place, have been there more than I have this summer, and look forward to bringing their children (when they have them) to Rehoboth Beach. We think this is going to be a great place for our family to share memories with the next generation. Thanks for being in your office in January and making it all happen. We wish you success in all your future sales.
